This feature has literally been under your fingers all along. It makes editing your text much easier.
The iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7 and 7 Plus all have this hidden feature that makes moving your cursor fast, easy, and precise.
Your Own Trackpad
If you have a 3D Touch iPhone, your default keyboard has a hidden trackpad. To activate this feature, long press firmly on any key until you see the keys turn blank and feel a haptic tap, Apple calls this Taptic feedback. Your keyboard then becomes a trackpad and functions similar to the trackpad on a laptop so you can slide your finger around the keyboard and the onscreen cursor will follow.
To select text, just ease the pressure you apply against a the screen a little, without letting go, then press firmly again to start highlighting text. This technique takes some to get used to, but when u finally master it, one-handed edits become a breeze.
What About Old iPhones?
These two ways will move your cursor for edits no matter which iPhone you have.
- TAP on the screen exactly where you want the cursor to go. This wont works accurately sometimes.
- Long press on the screen to bring up the magnifying glass. This way works better than tapping on the screen, even though sometimes your finger can obscure the cursor.
I hope that this features helps you to become a master editor. If you have any question about this quick tip please comment below.
